The Workshop Day
Quick Lessons on Marketing
We’ll start with a talk about key aspects of marketing for therapists including: how to market ethically and effectively; legal documents and statement to include on your website; how to describe your work and your approach to attract your ideal client; and the answer to the most asked question: “Do I have to be on social media?”
Tarot and Reflection
Past participants say this was a crucial part of what made their website better. You’ll have the opportunity to meet with Genevieve Saenz who will use the Tarot to help you gain perspective and insight into what direction to focus on in your business.
Writing Time
Sarah will lead you through a variety of specific and succinct prompts so that you can finally update the copy on to more accurately reflect who you are. You will have the option of writing your responses yourself, dictating the text as you talk through it, or working with Sarah to help you put words to your ideas. This activity is perfect for folks who DON’T LIKE writing or struggle with putting words to paper. (Don’t let your fears about writing stop you from joining us!)
After the workshop
You can choose one of two options:
1) At the end of the workshop, give Sarah what you’ve written that day and she’ll take it from there, finishing off the writing as much as needed.
2) Spend some time in the next week outside of the workshop finishing up your thoughts and send Sarah your writing by the end of the week.
(I highly recommend #1 if you are a procrastinator or perfectionist!)
In the following three months, Sarah will create your own one-page website. Using the work we do together in the workshop, the brand kit you choose, as well as some questionnaires you’ll complete before the workshop, Sarah will turn your thoughts and words into color and vibe that communicates who you are.
One month out from our workshop, you’ll receive a draft of the website and have two weeks to make minor edits to the copy or minor requests about changes to the layout. (A more precise timeline will be provided at the time of the workshop.)
Your website will be launched and out in the world! Hurrah! You’ll also receive videos walking you through how to make edits on your own as needed.

Sarah offers additional services a la carte for an additional fee. Examples include: adding more pages, adding a newsletter, creating a blog, and more.

If you already have a logo and brand colors you'd like me to use in your new one-page website, Sarah can transfer those for a $75 fee.

There are six different website brand kits you can choose from that include colors, fonts, and website layout. It is possible that someone else uses the same brand kit; however, the copy and photos will all be specific to your website. And, honestly, with thousands of therapists in Austin, it's unlikely someone sees the similarity. Instead, using a pre-made brand kit allows us to offer this service at a VERY discounted price, instead of our normal $2500+ cost.

Your website will be created on Squarespace. Should you decide to keep it, you will need to sign up for a squarespace hosting package. Using my design will give you 20% the price of signing up for Squarespace! Also, you will have the choice to use photos that are available for free, or higher quality stock photos that cost $25-$75/photo.

Our November 2023 workshop will not include headshots. We can, however, recommend photographers you can work with to update your headshots. Should you use our in-house photographer, Christine St. Laurent, you will get your branding photos at a discount.
* CEUs
Licensed social workers, licensed professional counselors and licensed psychologists in Texas will receive a certificate for 3 hours of ethics CEUs and 1 hour general CEU. You are responsible for understanding the rules of your CEUS and ensuring you are able to use the provided certificate (ex. Make My Practice Better is not a state agency or association and will not qualify as a listed provider for some CEUS).
